Teaching and Learning Centre has hosted three open forums on the topic of AI and ChatGPT<\/strong><\/a> technology. The first forum, The Impact of AI-Chat GPT in Higher Ed<\/strong> brought together over 60 participants from various disciplines to discuss the impact, the challenges and the possibilities here at UFV.<\/p>\n

The second forum, \u00a0Tech Talk – AI Generated Images in Higher Ed<\/strong>, took place on Feb 22 with guest Robin Pittman from SoCA, explored AI image generators such as DALL-E-2<\/a>, Midjourney<\/a>, and Stable Diffusion<\/a> that create art from any natural language prompt.<\/p>\n

The third forum, Leveraging the Technology to Assist Academics, <\/strong>took place on March 29th with guest Russell Campbell from the School of Computing. Russell shared how using Team-based learning (TBL) has helped address the issue of cheating and improve students’ use of this new technology as an additional learning tool.<\/p>\n

The fourth session, <\/strong>Ethical Considerations: ChatGPT and other Artificial Intelligence Generators<\/strong><\/a>, will take place April 26th<\/sup><\/strong>. We will discuss ways to employ these technologies ethically for teaching, learning, and assessment.<\/p>\n
