Russell shared how using Team-based learning (TBL) has helped address the issue of cheating and improve students&#8217; use of this new technology as an additional learning tool.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth session<strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/events.ufv.ca\/tlc\/events\/tech-talk\/\"><strong>Ethical Considerations: ChatGPT and other Artificial Intelligence Generators<\/strong><\/a><strong>, will take place April 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>. We will discuss ways to employ these technologies ethically for teaching, learning, and assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Some key takeaways from the sessions were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Re-thinking assessment design \u2013 using interviews, video, and audio to assess<\/li>\n<li>Keeping up to speed with the changes in Technology<\/li>\n<li>Incorporating \u201clived experiences\u201d of students into learning activities.<\/li>\n<li>Use in-class collaborative learning strategies (PBL, POGIL, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Adapting assignments to ask students to analyze &#8216;correct&#8217; generative texts.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on process rather than product.<\/li>\n<li>Create tasks that build capacities!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participants also had the opportunity to discuss their own experiences with ChatGPT and share ideas, strategies, resources, and areas where they may need more support on a Padlet.
