Or are they? Let\u2019s not forget the fact that the past year etched varied experiences on our university community. A pandemic that may have robbed dearest things from our lives or resurfaced historical trauma linked to residential schools and every other lived experience could evoke anxiety with the thought of going back to school. So, when our students walk into our classrooms this Fall, let us not expect them to leave those emotions at the doorstep. Instilling Alex Venet\u2019s four core priorities for a trauma-informed practice; predictability, flexibility, connections and empowerment within our classrooms could restore the sense of control and caring within individuals grappling with trauma.
