{"id":124,"date":"2014-10-24T16:23:14","date_gmt":"2014-10-24T16:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/tlc\/?p=124"},"modified":"2014-10-24T17:26:24","modified_gmt":"2014-10-24T17:26:24","slug":"call-for-facilitators-etug-2014-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/tlc\/2014\/10\/24\/call-for-facilitators-etug-2014-workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Facilitators: ETUG 2014 Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Nov 13, BCIT, Downtown Campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Educational Technology Users Group (ETUG) is a community of BC post-secondary educational practitioners focused on the ways in which learning and teaching can be enhanced through technology.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here are some<strong> ideas<\/strong> for formats for your 40-minute Unconference sessions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Show and Tell<\/strong>:\u00a0 about a great app, a project, or anything you think people ought to see<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group Discussion<\/strong>:\u00a0about a juicy topic that matters<\/li>\n<li><strong>My Big (or Little) Question<\/strong>:\u00a0 invite others to help you answer it..<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mini-hack Session<\/strong>: present a problem , invite others to generate hands-on solutions .<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ed Tech Speed-dating<\/strong>: facilitate a fast-paced, round-robin \u201cspeed dating\u201d-type session to allow participants to connect with many others in a short period of time \u2013 perhaps sharing strategies or technologies used in practice.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Case Study<\/strong>:\u00a0 showing innovation in your work or at your institution<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thinking Session<\/strong>:\u00a0 ask participants to brainstorm solutions to challenges you\u2019ve dealt with, or are dealing with, in your practice.\u00a0 Invite participants to design or create something together; e.g., assignment, grading rubric, policy, process strategy, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>World Cafe:<\/strong> Try a new spin on the group discussion by hosting a mini-World Cafe. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theworldcafe.com\/method.html\">More info on the World Cafe format<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/etug.ca\/2014\/10\/15\/fall-workshop-2014-call-for-facilitators\/\">http:\/\/etug.ca\/2014\/10\/15\/fall-workshop-2014-call-for-facilitators\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nov 13, BCIT, Downtown Campus.
