Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. There are two (2) positions available – one (1) in Dawson Creek and one (1) in Fort St. John.

Guardianship, Resources, Out of Care Worker
$71,771.66 – $89,268.45 (Growth) annually which includes a 1-Grid Temporary Market Adjustment* at the full working level.

We work together to make an impact on children. Comprised of professionals and new members, the teams are dedicated to ensuring every child is safe. This team collaborates with local Ministry Office service delivery teams within the building including Children and Youth Support Needs, Youth Probation, Children and Youth Mental Health, and Child Protection, fostering an environment where connection, reliability, and kindness are displayed.

These two positions are both responsible for Guardianship duties, however, Resource and Out of Care duties will also be required at times. You’ll play a part in developing and overseeing care plans for children, ensuring their safety, stability, and well-being. You will work with caregivers to support children through care, placement, and permanency, ensure their rights are upheld and their milestones celebrated; and facilitate and support Out of Care options and more.

Qualifications for this role include:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work OR Child and Youth Care OR Master of Education in Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare OR
• In-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA).
NOTE: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered; OR A candidate may be considered equivalent when they are registered and a member in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers or has a letter from the College confirming that their application for registration has been approved.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field OR Bachelor’s Degree with a Major/Honors in a Human Services OR Master’s level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field AFTER the completion of an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree.
