Outreach Counsellor, Fraser House Soc. – Mission

Job description

Fraser House Society facilitates a grant through the Community Action Initiative to provide Substance Use Outreach Counselling with adults in Mission BC. The successful candidate has a blend of skills, knowledge, and experience to bring to this multi-faceted role. Some of the many facets of this role include collaboration with community partners, a trauma informed approach, depth of understanding about homelessness, working with and adding to existing outreach initiatives in Mission, cultural safety, counselling skills, knowledge of the Substance Use continuum of care, ability to support clients in navigating systems, and advocacy. The candidate will also be very organized and skillful at tracking spending/activities and report writing.

Qualifications:

Registration with a professional association in BC (e.g. RSW, RCC, RN, CCC, CAC). Two years of experience in a related field. Excellent verbal, written and computer skills. Strong counselling skills. Personable, able to work independently and with a team. Valid driver’s license and vehicle. Willingness and ability to have some flexibility in schedule to help meet client needs.
