About us:

Chilliwack Youth Health Centre is an integrated youth service provider of medical and mental health care services for youth aged 12-26. We are in our tenth year of operation. Our mission is to empower youth through providing accessible low barrier, same-day medical and mental health integrated youth services. Collaborating with youth to be where they need services, when, and how they need them.

About the position:

Chilliwack Youth Health Centre (CYHC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director who will report to the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre Society Board of Directors. In this role, the ideal candidate will continue to foster success between CYHC’s culture, values, and its partners. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven history of leading and developing. They will be adept at fostering a positive working culture for the CYHC team, and practicum students that will continue to deliver to exceptional youth services.

CYHC determines an individual’s pay based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team. The compensation range for this role is $30/hr – $40/hr.

Roles and Responsibilities:

o Coordinates with direction of the board new or revised policy and strategic plans, goals, operational policies, new program proposals, directions or initiatives, impacts of legislative changes, resource needs and other matters of importance to CYHC.

o Provides information to and recommends/presents proposals and plans to the Board for review, discussion and approval.

o With the Director of Counselling and Director of Medical Services, plans, implements, and monitors the provision of services for the CYHC. Ensures effective and efficient program/service delivery consistent with agency mandate and policy, legal, budgetary, and other requirements.

o Plans, organizes and implements the long-term operations and program delivery of CYHC.

o In collaboration with the CYHC Program Coordinator and Executive in negotiating, managing and reporting on contracts with funders.

o Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all levels of government officials, partner agencies, funding sources and community groups.

o In collaboration with the Board, Treasurer, and the Board Finance Working Group prepare annual budget for consideration by the Board.

o Coordinate and maintains fund-raising activities as directed by the board.

o Explore grant opportunities and coordinate the development of grant and funding proposals.

o Coordinate program, budgetary, operational, and organizational requirements for new/existing programs within areas of responsibility.

o Oversees and ensures risk management policies and procedures are sufficient to protect CYHC, employees, and/or volunteers from liability and other claims.

o Manages human resource issues including discipline and grievances, and significant disciplinary measures including those that could lead to termination must be reported to and addressed with the CYHC.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal applicant will have, a relevant bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience as well as,

o Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and client confidentiality.

o Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

o Ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals.

o Proven leadership and people management skills.

o Demonstrated ability to think and act with strategic and tactical agility and lead strategic operational changes.

o Strong ability to create productive working relationships with team members.

o Experience creating and adhering to a board approved budget.

o Sound knowledge of non-profit financial reporting requirements.

o Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community mental health resources.

o Grant writing experience an asset.

Hours of Work

Your standard hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week as an employee of CYHC. Hours worked will be determined according to the Centre as determined from time to time. To respond to business needs, you may need to work more or fewer hours than your standard hours as determined by the Centre.

You may be requested to work overtime on occasion. In the event you work overtime, you will be granted time in lieu to be taken within the fiscal year the overtime is earned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,250.00-$78,000.00 per year
