Social workers act as advocates, advisors, educators and navigators, serving their clients in a way that extends beyond physical health – providing a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on in times of need. As a social worker with the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of client groups in diverse settings. You will be an integral member of the health care team, utilizing your expertise and background to provide assessment, counselling, care coordination, advocacy and support for a diverse patient population. Social workers work across a wide variety of PHSA’s programs and services, including:

BC mental health & Substance abuse services

Which includes:

Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and regional clinics
Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addiction
Heartwood Centre for Women
Correctional Health Services
BC Children’s Hospital
BC Women’s Hospital
