In This Together, UFV’s sexualized violence prevention education program. This suite of three workshops has been developed to support Policy 236, on the Prevention, Education, and Response to Sexualized Violence. Designed for all UFV students, these workshops aim to promote conversations about consent, active bystander intervention, and support resources in an informal, supportive, and student-centred learning environment.
Each workshop is 90 minutes long and is facilitated by two Student Educators. Although they are in academic programs ranging from Criminology to Health Sciences to Biology, our Student Educators share a deep commitment to social justice and community development. They receive extensive training and ongoing support and professional development related to their role.
The workshops—Consent 101, Citizenship 101, and Support 101—are offered on an ongoing basis throughout the academic year on the Abbotsford and Chilliwack Canada Education Park campuses. If you are interested in including one of the workshops in your class, please contact Belinda Karsen, Coordinator, Student Transition and Engagement, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604-557-4064.
At UFV, we are dedicated to creating a future without sexualized violence. The In This Together program aims to empower our students to become responsible, empathetic, and engaged community members.
