The University of the Fraser Valley welcomes exchange students on its main campus in Abbotsford.  Nestled in the beautiful and temperate Fraser Valley, Abbotsford is one hour from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and five minutes from the USA and is one of Canada’s fastest growing areas. Abbotsford is the third most ethnically diverse region in all of Canada after Toronto and Vancouver and features a brand new library, recreation centre, hospital, and cultural centre. As an exchange student, you have the option to get a bus pass that gives you unlimited access to local transit, as well as free entry to the gym facilities, swimming pool and ice rink at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.

With its four distinct seasons, the Fraser Valley features the mildest weather in Canada. Spring provides a dazzling explosion of blooming trees and flowers; summer is pleasantly warm and sunny, while fall brings out an impressive display of golden and red leaves. Even during the winter months, the Fraser Valley nremains green, averaging less than 14 days of snow a year.

You can be active year-round, enjoy easy access to natural attractions and choose from a myriad of recreational activities, including hiking, swimming, biking, rafting, golfing, fishing, snowboarding and skiing.

Many famous destinations are within driving distance, including Whistler, one of the most popular mountain resorts in North America; Victoria, the capital of BC; Banff, a world-renowned national park; and Seattle, a major coastal seaport in the US.
