The departments of History and Fashion Design will be sponsoring an interdisciplinary study tour to Peru in the Early Summer Session, 2015. Students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to:

• Study the history and culture of the Peruvian Andes
• Visit Machu Picchu and other Inka sites, colonial buildings, museums, art galleries, a textile factory, local weavers, street markets, and stores
• Participate in textile workshops in Indigenous communities
• Meet with NGO representatives
• Consider the impact of global warming, the Canadian mining industry, and tourism
• Hike—and condor watch—in spectacular mountain scenery
• Travel to Lima, Arequipa and the Colca Canyon, Cusco (UNESCO World Heritage Centre), the ‘Sacred Valley of the Inkas,’ and the Callejón de Huaylas (with the world’s highest tropical mountain range)
