This launch will be celebrated with a series of events that showcase the outstanding work of our students, graduates, and faculty and engage the community in meaningful activities to contribute to environmental conservation efforts. Be inspired by students and graduates of Global Development Studies, Indigenous Studies, and Peace and Conflict Studies discussing their program and placement experiences, their work and motivations, and their hopes for the field of social justice and global stewardship. Confronting the climate emergency: post-disaster recovery and regional collaboration in the Lytton region – Guest speaker Sarah Kamal<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1 PM \u2013 3 PM | B101 | ABBOTSFORD CAMPUS<\/p>\n

Guest speaker Sarah Kamal, in conversation with SoJust faculty, will discuss her work with the Kanaka Bar Indian Band in developing collaborative and coalition building responses to climate displacement and the capacity of Indigenous story to promote healing. Q & A and refreshments to follow.<\/p>\n

Planting Stewardship and Justice: A SoJust Pocket Forest<\/strong><\/h3>\n

10 AM \u2013 1 PM | SOOWAHLIE NATION, CHILLIWACK<\/p>\n

Join us in planting a pocket forest at The’w\u00e1:l\u00ed\u00a0First Nation, engaging hands, hearts, and minds to commit to our shared earth, our collective community, and our mutual interdependency by planting sustainability and good intentions. Performances by puppeteer J Peachy and snacks by St\u00f3:l\u014d Bannock. All welcome, bring the family!<\/p>\n
