These positions are for a ONE YEAR term.<\/p>\n<p>The Mandate of the Science Faculty Council (SFC) shall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>serve as the forum for sharing information and the discussion of academic matters<\/li>\n<li>receive recommendations related to academic programs, including but not limited to: development of new programs, program changes, new courses, discontinuation of courses;<\/li>\n<li>vote on recommendations as related to the above;<\/li>\n<li>transmit recommendations to Senate;<\/li>\n<li>pass policies related to the functioning of the Faculty Council;<\/li>\n<li>deal with matters assigned by the Board or Senate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WHO is eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Any student in the Faculty of Science who has successfully completed at least 12 credits in the previous 12 months.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>ARE<\/strong> <strong>you in \u2026?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc \u2013 Bachelor of Science<\/li>\n<li>Data Analysis Certificate<\/li>\n<li>BAS \u2013 Bachelor of Agricultural Science<\/li>\n<li>Computer Science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT dates \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>September 18th <\/strong>\u2013 Deadline to Nominate<\/li>\n<li><strong>September 28 &#8211; October 2 <\/strong>\u2013 Elections (via MyUFV)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>LENGTH of term \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TWO (2) Representatives for ONE (1) YEAR starting October 2020<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ufv.ca\/media\/assets\/faculty-of-science\/science-faculty-council\/nominations-and-elections\/Nom_Form_Student_F20.pdf\"><strong>DOWNLOAD STUDENT NOMINATION FORM<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>SCAN and EMAIL completed form to:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Faculty of Science via <a href=\"mailto:nomelec.sci@ufv.ca\">nomelec.sci@ufv.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ufv.ca\/senate\/college--faculty-councils\/science\/science-faculty-council\/\">View Science Faculty Council Meeting Schedule<\/a><\/p>\n<p>**Science Faculty Council meets once each month at 1 PM on Friday of the first week in the UFV meeting schedule from September to May.
