This program will provide opportunities for high performing Canadian students from a variety of STEM disciplines to be part of a 10 week research internship one of NASA\u2019s research facilities.<\/p>\n<h3>THE PROGRAM<\/h3>\n<p>The program intends to award grants to the students that are selected for the program to support the NASA I\u00b2. The total grant amounts awarded to each grantee are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to $8,000 for a 10-week internship;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a Canadian citizen on the date of application<\/li>\n<li>Be enrolled in a Canadian university as a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) in a topic of interest to the CSA and relevant to NASA&#8217;s mission priorities, as reflected in the available internship projects (<a href=\"https:\/\/asc-csa.gc.ca\/pdf\/eng\/funding-programs\/funding-opportunities\/ao\/2019-nasa-i2-project-list.pdf\">NASA I\u00b2 Project List [PDF, 202 KB]).<\/a> Candidates that are pursuing an undergraduate degree should have successfully completed a minimum of four (4) semesters of full-time study (or full-time equivalent) in their program <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">at the time of application<\/span>. The applicant&#8217;s academic record should include the name of his or her institution, the program in which the applicant is enrolled, the applicant&#8217;s complete list of courses, including his or her marks in each course, and the legend explaining acronyms;<\/li>\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>motivation letter\u00a0<\/strong>written by the applicant (refer to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/asc-csa.gc.ca\/eng\/funding-programs\/funding-opportunities\/ao\/2019-nasa-i2.asp#5.2\">Section\u00a05.2\u00a0<\/a>for the elements that should be covered in the motivation letter);<\/li>\n<li>a\u00a0<strong>reference letter\u00a0<\/strong>from a professor that holds a faculty position at the applicant&#8217;s university (must be a separate document) (refer to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/asc-csa.gc.ca\/eng\/funding-programs\/funding-opportunities\/ao\/2019-nasa-i2.asp#5.2\">Section\u00a05.2\u00a0<\/a>for elements that should be covered in the reference letter);<\/li>\n<li>the applicant&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>curriculum vitae\u00a0<\/strong>(must be a separate document);<\/li>\n<li>the list of\u00a0<strong>awards, scholarships and distinctions\u00a0<\/strong>that the applicant has received, if applicable;<\/li>\n<li>one\u00a0<strong>hard copy\u00a0<\/strong>of all the documents above; and,<\/li>\n<li>a single\u00a0<strong>PDF-formatted file\u00a0<\/strong>containing copies (identical to the paper copies) of all the above requested documents with all security features disabled on a USB memory key.
