It\u2019s time for a SustainableUFV meeting! Drop by and say hi to your SustainableUFV team and meet the new Student Sustainability Coordinators face-to-face. There will be pizza! Feel free to drop in whenever you can to chat about all things sustainability. We will be talking about some of our recent initiatives and we want to hear from you.<\/p>\n

This is a great chance to let us know what you would like to see from UFV in terms of sustainability. We want to hear your thoughts and ideas!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The 2019 Waste Audit Report!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Our wonderful Student Sustainability Coordinator, Kaitlin, has prepared the official report following the 2019 Waste Audit.<\/p>\n

We have found, with the results that we are excellent at sorting organics and refundable beverage containers, however we are seeing many recyclable items still end up in the landfill stream. Even more so than last year! Oh no!<\/p>\n

Please a quick glance and let us know what you think of the results and any idea\u2019s you may have on how to improve our waste sorting abilities here at UFV!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Sweater Week 2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sweater weather is upon us! Hurray! That means Sweater Week is just around the corner!<\/p>\n

Taking place the week of November 25th<\/strong>, all thermostats in buildings at the Abbotsford campus will be turned down by 1 to 2 degrees. Why do we do this? To shed light on climate change and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to better our planet! Since 2009, UFV\u2019s tons of carbon per square meter has dropped by 48%!<\/p>\n

Afraid it\u2019s going to get chilly at UFV? Not to worry! Bundle up in a cozy sweater to stay warm and participate in our Sweater Week Selfie Contest! Each day of the week during sweater week, \u00a0SustainableUFV will present a theme. Snap a selfie wearing a related snazzy sweater and you could win a prize! \u00a0Extra brownie points if you snap your selfie in front of one of the Selfie Stations that will be set up around campus!<\/p>\n
