The Department of Physics at UFV <\/a>is pleased to announce that the Physics Grad Coordinator from Simon Fraser University <\/a>will be providing information on their grad program. This talk will definitely be of interest to upper level Physics students, so please mark your calendar!<\/p>\n

Simon Fraser University – Graduate Program<\/h3>\n

Typical of most Canadian universities, students with a bachelor level degree interested in research leading to a doctoral degree are admitted first into the Master\u2019s degree program.\u00a0 The Master\u2019s degree program involves graduate level course work and research leading to a Master\u2019s thesis. With the support of the student\u2019s thesis committee, a student in the Master\u2019s degree program can transfer directly into the Ph.D. program after one year at SFU. Those students who apply with a higher-level degree may be admitted directly into the Ph.D. program.<\/p>\n

Financial support is guaranteed for all graduate students accepted into the program. Tuition and fees are the responsibility of the student but are covered adequately by this financial support. International students are charged the same tuition and fees as our domestic students.<\/p>\n
