Our first Math Mania<\/strong> <\/a>event of the year was held on October 4th at Gordon Greenwood Elementary <\/a>in Langley. A group of UFV faculty and student volunteers spent the evening sharing hands-on activities with the kids and their parents. One parent was overheard saying, “I thought the evening would be spent working on math equations<\/em>” and then was really happy with the interesting games she encountered instead!<\/p>\n

[box]The next Math Mania is scheduled for January 31, 2018<\/strong> in Mission. If you would like to sign up to volunteer for the this event, please sign up using their new online webform<\/a>. If you\u2019re collecting volunteer hours for a practicum or for entrance into a teaching program, they can give you a letter describing your involvement.[\/box]<\/p>\n

Thank you to all of the volunteers for donating their time. This is a great opportunity to give back to our community and show children, and their parents, how much fun you can have playing with mathematical concepts!<\/p>\n
