\"game_changer_2015\"<\/a>Fergus Dalton, Bachelor of Science student at UFV, wins the $1000 first prize award in the Mechanical CAD competition at Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Game Changer Conference in Vancouver on Oct. 15, 2015.\u00a0 An equal amount was also awarded to UFV’s Faculty of Science and will be used for student science sponsored events such as the annual London International Youth Science Forum.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe skills competition took place on Oct. 15, 2015 and the CAD program that we were tested on was Autodesk Inventor and after the competition I was interviewed by Kyle of True North. The next morning I participated in the youth panel which included BC ministers such as Andrew Wilkinson & Mike Bernier. The panel discussion centred on the youth\u2019s perspective of the labour market, including education and its\u00a0contribution to\u00a0trades, and\u00a0also what LNG meant to us. Most of my points about education were focused on the removal of the stigma against trades during earlier education and allowing education to portray trades careers as equal respectability to business\/white collar\u00a0careers.\u201d – Fergus Dalton<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
