Her work has garnered her many awards including the prestigious Royal Society of Canada&#8217;s New Scholar designation and holds UFV&#8217;s Canada Research Chair in Food Security and the Environment.<\/p>\n<p>Ashleigh Yakemchuk is a hardworking student and researcher currently doing a project at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, USA. Ashleigh volunteers for Science&#8217;s Centre for Environmental Sustainability and worked part time as Sustainability Coordinators Assistant at UFV. Pat Harrison, Biology instructor and Chair of the Science&#8217;s Centre for Sustainability, nominated Ashleigh for the award.
