The season premiere is July 8.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe feel like Abbotsford is our second home,\u201d Jinder told The News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been crazy, just the outpouring of support that we\u2019ve gotten, and a lot of people from Abbotsford as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Atwals are no strangers to the travel involved in the Amazing Race \u2013 since graduating from UFV, they have lived in India, Thailand and Malaysia establishing businesses related to skin care products and functional health beverages.<\/p>\n<p>They were back home for Christmas last year when they applied for the Amazing Race Canada on a whim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the last day to apply, two hours before the deadline,\u201d Sukhi said with a chuckle. \u201cWe made one video, kind of an improv first take, and we got it in just minutes before the deadline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Atwals were selected and taped the show earlier this year, but they\u2019re sworn to secrecy as to the results. The prize package for the winning team includes $250,000 cash, two Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks, free flights for a year with Air Canada, and gas for life from Petro-Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the most motivating thing that I\u2019ve ever heard \u2013 free gas for life,\u201d Jinder said with a laugh.<\/p>\n<p>During their time at UFV, the Atwals lived in Mission Secondary football coach Kevin Watrin\u2019s basement suite, and they reached out to him for fitness pointers in advance of the Amazing Race taping.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe told us to take ice baths after every leg of the race,\u201d Jinder said. \u201cHe\u2019s been telling us how to sprint train, and we adopted some of his mantras \u2013\u00a0it\u2019s 90 per cent mental, and the rest is in your head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Atwal siblings will be active on Twitter during the show\u2019s run (their handles are @SukhiAtwal2 and @jinderatwal) and will be answering questions after each episode.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Sukhi and Jinder Atwal for your amazing achievements participating in this amazing opportunity. &#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;- Related Articles: Sept 17, 2014 &#8211; CTV &#8216;The Social&#8217; &#8211; Five questions with Sukhi and Jinder Watch full episodes on CTV &#8212;- Twitter Feeds: twitter.com\/SukhiAtwal2 twitter.com\/jinderatwal &#8212;- Sept 10, 2014 &#8211; Atwal Siblings win another &#8216;Amazing Race&#8217; leg!
