This workshop has been held annually since 2009 to foster collaborations among established investigators, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students interested in immune function in a wide range of model and non-model organisms. This year, we welcomed 52 participants from 9 countries!<\/p>\n<p>We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the organizing committee &#8211;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.auburn.edu\/cosam\/departments\/biology\/biology-faculty\/buckley\/index.htm\">Kate Buckley<\/a><\/strong> (Auburn University), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uwaterloo.ca\/biology\/profile\/bdixon\">Brian Dixon<\/a><\/strong> (University of Waterloo), <strong>Shayne Oberhoffner<\/strong>, <strong>Brenna Hay<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/biology\/contact-us\/faculty\/lee-justin.htm\">Justin Lee<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong>Caroline Majeau<\/strong> (University of the Fraser Valley), whose dedication and hard work helped make this event a success.<\/p>\n<p>A special thank you to Lucky, Trina, and the rest of the team from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/dining\/catering\/\">UFV Catering<\/a>, as well as Tyrone and his team at the <a href=\"https:\/\/rogersforum.com\/\">Rogers Forum<\/a> in Abbotsford, for helping to make our banquet such a memorable event.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all of our presenters. &#x1f389; Congratulations to all the poster winners and the special award recipients: Benyamin Rosental, Ben Gurion University &#8211; &#8220;Best Hair&#8221; &#x1f60f;and Louise Rollins-Smith, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine &#8211; &#8220;Old&#8221; Investigator Award, in appreciation of her dedication to the field of Comparative Immunology.<\/p>\n<p>See you all again next year!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naciworkshop.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-12864\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/science\/files\/2026\/06\/NACI-2026-LOGO-300x188.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"186\" height=\"106\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Biology was honoured to host the North American Comparative Immunology Workshop at UFV from May 31 to June 3.
