Twenty-four biology students, along with biology faculty Jennifer Barrett<\/strong>, Sandra Gillespie<\/strong>, Debbie Wheeler<\/strong>, Dina Navon<\/strong>, Yvonne Dzal,<\/strong> Harley Gordon<\/strong>, and UFV BSc 2021 graduate Dilan\u00a0Praat<\/strong>, headed out on our first field school since 2019. From May 14\u201326, they will explore the diverse terrestrial and marine ecosystems of the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust region, learning about Nuu-chah-nulth history, language, culture, and Indigenous-led conservation efforts. The group will also take part in a whale-watching tour to observe whales, seals, and seabirds in their natural habitat.<\/p>\n

This immersive, extended biological field experience will also earn these students 8 credits (BIO 442<\/a>)!<\/p>\n
