Your responsibilities will include maintaining bacterial cultures, preparing growth media, harvesting bacteria, and conducting disc-diffusion assays. Hands-on training will be provided by Dr. Gordon and Dr. Beshara.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"987\">This internship runs for six months from the start date. Ideally, at least four months of the work should take place during a semester when you have a lighter course load (e.g., one or two courses or during preparation for an advanced placement test).<\/p>\n<p>Work will be conducted on the UFV Abbotsford campus in the chemistry and biology research laboratories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expectations:<\/strong> Once training is complete, you will be expected to manage the microbiology component of the project independently.
