The only thing scheduled for the evening was the Traditions of Home event at around 8pm, so we were free to do whatever we wanted. Some students decided to visit Hampton Court Palace and Cambridge, but I didn’t book any optional visits. I figured it would be a good chance to do some shopping and pick up some souvenirs for my friends and family. Plus, I’ve been to Cambridge before, so I thought I could pass on that one.

I woke up today without any alarms, which was so great and just a perfect relaxed start to the day. But, of course, it also hit me that this was the last Sunday I’d be at LIYSF, which meant I had to pack up all my stuff. I didn’t want to forget anything, plus I had to fit in all the little things I had bought from the local markets. There was a lot of stuff to squeeze in my bags!

I decided to skip breakfast and do some packing first, but I was still in bed when my friend called me and let me tell you, that call was so unexpected and kind of scary. She was totally panicked because someone had stolen her wallet during breakfast. She didn’t even realize it until she got an AirTag notification that it was moving. The good news was that we could track it, but unfortunately, the thief had thrown it away. Even though it was a bit of a mess, my friend tried to reach out to the police to report the theft of her IDs and approximately 700 pounds. So, guess what? I ended up at a police station in the UK to help her file a crime report. Yeah, definitely an adventure I wasn’t planning for, but what are friends for, right?

After all that drama, it was already 12pm and I was exhausted. But I wasn’t going to let this free day slip away, so I got myself ready and decided to go out. My friend wasn’t feeling it, understandably, but I went solo. I had a delicious meal at a famous taco place (seriously, so good!) and grabbed some bubble tea to beat the heat while walking around the streets. Then, I visited a few local stores and finally made my way to Portobello Road Market. It was so cool!

From there, I headed to Oxford Street, which, of course, was packed since it was a Sunday, but still fun! So many stores, great deals and I got a few more things before hopping on the tube back to make it in time for Traditions of Home.

Afterwards, I went out with some friends to grab ice cream from Amorino (my absolute favorite), topping it off with macarons. OMG, so delicious!

By the time I got back to my room, I was so tired. I fell asleep immediately and ended up missing all the fun from the Traditions of Home evening. I didn’t even wake up after so many missed calls and doorbell rings. Well, it is what it is. I’m sure they had a blast, but honestly, I don’t regret catching up on sleep! And just like that, it’s only two more days left.
