{"id":11725,"date":"2023-06-12T12:27:11","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T19:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/science\/?p=11725"},"modified":"2023-06-12T12:27:11","modified_gmt":"2023-06-12T19:27:11","slug":"welcome-to-the-shakespeare-reconciliation-garden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/science\/2023\/06\/12\/welcome-to-the-shakespeare-reconciliation-garden\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome to the Shakespeare Reconciliation Garden!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dedicated towards understanding and harmony,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/media\/assets\/indigenous-affairs-office\/toward-peace-and-harmony.MP3\"><em>xwla ye totelo\u0301:met qas ye slilekwel,<\/em><\/a>\u00a0the garden is located in St\u00f3:l\u014d Temexw, the sacred lands of the St\u00f3:l\u014d Peoples.\u00a0We are grateful to the Elders and knowledge-keepers who have preserved the land, the plants, and the stories.<\/p>\n<p>As an act of reconciliation, the garden was designed by students, staff and faculty in Winter 2019 and 2020, and planted in June 2021 by volunteers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-80375d1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"80375d1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/shakespearereconciliationgarden.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/echinacea-kismet-intense-orange-from-terra-nova_1400x.jpeg\" width=\"312\" height=\"305\" \/>This space revives and reimagines the former UFV Shakespeare garden.
