Dedicated towards understanding and harmony,\u00a0xwla ye totelo\u0301:met qas ye slilekwel,<\/em><\/a>\u00a0the garden is located in St\u00f3:l\u014d Temexw, the sacred lands of the St\u00f3:l\u014d Peoples.\u00a0We are grateful to the Elders and knowledge-keepers who have preserved the land, the plants, and the stories.<\/p>\n

As an act of reconciliation, the garden was designed by students, staff and faculty in Winter 2019 and 2020, and planted in June 2021 by volunteers.<\/p>\n

This space revives and reimagines the former UFV Shakespeare garden. It\u00a0aims to honour Shakespeare and honour Indigenous knowledge by lifting up plants and stories, and to offer a peaceful, contemplative, learning space, a space to nibble on berries, learn from and care for plants, and start conversations.<\/p>\n

A beautiful website has been created<\/strong> for the garden thanks to many of our UFV students, staff, faculty, and volunteers: https:\/\/shakespearereconciliationgarden.ca\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Take a trip online and visit our Shakespeare Reconciliation Garden and be sure to follow it up with an in-person visit to our Chilliwack Campus, 45190 Caen Avenue, Chilliwack, BC.<\/p>\n
