She shared some insight into her research which she plans to continue after her retirement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_title tdi_66 tdb-single-title td-pb-border-top td_block_template_3\" data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_66\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<h2 class=\"tdb-title-text\">Dean of the faculty of science is retiring from her post<\/h2>\n<h4 class=\"tdb-title-text\">Dr. Lucy Lee opens up about working at UFV<\/h4>\n<p><em>Article written by Rachel Tait, June 5, 2023<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/science\/deans-office\/lee-lucy.htm\">Dr. Lucy Lee<\/a>\u00a0has worked as the dean of the faculty of science at UFV since 2012. Holding a\u00a0PhD\u00a0in cell biology from the University of Waterloo, Lee specializes in fish cell culture and \u201cfish\u00a0muscle cell line development.\u201d She has worked at such institutions as the University of Saskatchewan, Wilfrid Laurier University, and the University of Waterloo, and after 11 years of working at UFV, has decided to retire from her position. Dr. Lee opened up about working in her position, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/science\/research\/lee-lab\/\">Lee Lab<\/a>, her research, and what she hopes to see in the future for UFV.<\/p>\n<p>Lee has been working predominantly in fish cell culture for several years, but it wasn\u2019t her first choice back in high school. \u201cIt\u2019s actually very convoluted because you\u2019ve finished high school and you never know what you want to do.\u201d Lee said that since she was good at many subjects, her high school counsellor told her, \u201cyou can do whatever you want.\u201d One of her passions was art, and she\u2019d initially decided to become an architect because she wanted to utilize both her math and drawing skills in her profession.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ufvcascade.ca\/dean-of-the-faculty-of-science-is-retiring-from-her-post\/?fbclid=IwAR1X_ZU0_u2-oYSgmj2iyU_RmempBe5QNjqDPpYkWcCNlA6YzI8bkRxU9_U\">CONTINUE READING &gt;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Lucy Lee, Dean of the Faculty of Science was recently interviewed by Rachel Tait from The Cascade.
