{"id":11647,"date":"2023-03-27T10:37:03","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T17:37:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/science\/?p=11647"},"modified":"2023-03-27T10:41:29","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T17:41:29","slug":"kluane-drilling-yukon-seeking-drill-helpers-for-the-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/science\/2023\/03\/27\/kluane-drilling-yukon-seeking-drill-helpers-for-the-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Kluane Drilling, Yukon seeking Drill Helpers for the summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kluanedrilling.ca\/\">Kluane Drilling<\/a> is an exploration drilling company and work for junior exploration companies as well as mining companies in the Yukon.<\/p>\n<p>Our operations require an experienced driller and a driller helper on each drill.\u00a0 The drills run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the shifts for the helpers are 12 hours each.\u00a0 The rotation is usually 4 weeks on with at least 4 days off and up to 2 weeks off if people fly home for the break.\u00a0 We have accommodations in Whitehorse for days off for those employees who prefer a shorter break.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0It is an excellent opportunity for environmental science, earth science and geology students to work at active mineral exploration projects and to gross approximately $2500 for a full week of work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Driller Helper Duties<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Helping driller with manual operations, rig set-up and tear down<\/li>\n<li>Helping driller by pulling and adding rods and emptying the inner tube, performing general maintenance, refueling drill and water pumps, running waterline and keeping the drill platform clean and organized.<\/li>\n<li>Marketing depths on core blocks + labeling boxes<\/li>\n<li>Required to work efficiently and safely at all times while adhering to company, territorial and federal regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Experience and Skills<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience helping on a drill or willingness to get trained<\/li>\n<li>Physically fit for physically demanding work: able to lift up to 80 lbs., 12 hour shifts<\/li>\n<li>Able to work in remote camps for up to 28 days without a day off<\/li>\n<li>Zero tollerance on drugs and alcohol, must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.<\/li>\n<li>Honest and reliable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Certification Requirements<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Current and valid Standard First Aid with CPR<\/li>\n<li>WHIMIS 2015<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">We Offer<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>$24 to $28\/hr based on experience plus overtime and bonuses.
