Matthew Stoutjesdyk and<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_184\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-184\" style=\"width: 290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/sasi\/files\/2012\/05\/SamanMicrolectures-posters-0101.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-184\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/sasi\/files\/2012\/05\/SamanMicrolectures-posters-0101-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-184\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Saman Brar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jason Kowal<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<p>presented a poster <em>Low-tech, High Performance: Moving Families Forward One Microgarden at a Time <\/em>that summarized the work of the project in the slums of Chandigarh undertaken by Satwinder Bains of the CICS and Garry Fehr of Geography. \u00a0This poster won the first place among all of the posters submitted from students in the College of Arts. This award is the College of Arts Dean\u2019s Award.<\/p>\n<p>CICS \u00a0student researchers Ms.Saman Brar and Ms. Alvina Kumar also presented a micro lecture highlighting their research work on \u00a0the 100 year Indo-Canadian History Research project and The Fiji Project: Questions of home, belonging and return respectively.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; UFV\u2019s student research day was held on March 29 where students from all the departments presented their research projects as posters and microlectures.
