This year&#8217;s festival featured\u00a0four writers: Raminder Sidhu, Hugh Johnston, Lieutenant Colonel Pritam Singh Jauhal and\u00a0Ashok Bhargava. Raminder began the festival by reading from her debut novel <em>Tears of Mehndi<\/em>, and was followed by a reading from <em>Jewels of the Qila<\/em> by SFU Professor Emeritus Hugh Johnston.<\/p>\n<p>The CICS was pleased to have Lieutenant Colonel Pritam Singh Jauhal attend and\u00a0read from <em>A Soldier Remembers,<\/em> which is the first book published by the CICS and co-authored by its Coordinator, Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra. <em>A Soldier Remembers<\/em> is based on the memoirs of Lieutenant Colonel Pritam Singh Jauhal and chronicles the struggles and accomplishments of an immigrant Sikh-Canadian, and the lifelong service he has given to his community.
