The SASI, working in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/ufv.ca\/antiracism\/\">UFV&#8217;s Race and Antiracism Network<\/a> (RAN) will be organizing a workshop with invited guests from other lower mainland Universities to create a comparative understanding of how there is a lack of disaggregated race-based data collecting that continues to be a hindrance to access in the post-secondary world. The hope is to forge a pathway or roadmap amongst post-secondary institutions to include race-based data collecting as an open and transparent process.<\/p>\n<p>The report and findings from the workshop will help the Province of BC in developing anti-racism data legislation which has been mandated by Premier John Horgan and directed through the Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Racism Initiatives, Rachna Singh.<\/p>\n<p>UFV&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/health-and-social-innovation\/\">Community Health and Social Innovation Hub (CHASI)<\/a> with the SASI and RAN, recently hosted a webinar with the BC Office of Human Rights on their recent report titled: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=A1XvRbCvXfI&amp;ab_channel=UFVCHASIHub\"><em>Disaggregated demographic data collection in British Columbia: The grandmother perspective<\/em><\/a> in March, 2021.
