Since receiving <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/sasi\/2020\/09\/04\/sasi-receives-provincial-grant-south-asian-canadian-legacy-project\/\">Provincial funding<\/a>, the South Asian Studies Institute has been working with a dedicated team and partners to engage in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/sasi\/south-asian-canadian-legacy-project\/\">six projects<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Travelling Exhibit (in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/royalbcmuseum.bc.ca\/about\/explore\/centre-arrivals\/punjabi-intercultural-history-project\">Royal BC Museum<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Labour History\u00a0 (in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.labourheritagecentre.ca\/\">BC Labour Heritage<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.southasiancanadianheritage.ca\/saclp\/sacda-4\/\">Digital Archive<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Social History book<\/li>\n<li>Historic Sites recognition (see films: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FzcDdhAKUh0&amp;ab_channel=SouthAsianStudiesInstitute%2CUFV\">Solidarity Lives<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UWEIgZ1Er4I&amp;ab_channel=SouthAsianStudiesInstitute%2CUFV\">Gur Sikh Temple, National Historic Site<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Learning Resources\/School Curriculum (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.openschool.bc.ca\/\">Open School BC<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The two day retreat included updates from each of the projects and a planning session on deliverables that will be presented throughout this year until March, 2022. The SASI looks forward to sharing these highlights over the course of the year into 2022, and opening access points for more engagement with diverse stories and histories in the Province of BC.
