The exhibit, titled\u00a0<em>Desis in the Diaspora\u00a0<\/em>Canadian contemporary artists to submit photographic work which reflects upon Canadians of South Asian heritage \u2013 now and in the past. Each submitted project can consist of a maximum of five photographs. Photographs submitted to this exhibit should represent the artist\u2019s ideas or perspectives on the diversity of experiences, aesthetics, cultural embodiments, religious symbolism, etc. The word \u201cdesi\u201d speaks to the dual nature of identity for Canadian South Asians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Definition of Desi<br \/>\n<em>de\u00b7si<\/em>: Noun<br \/>\n1. A person of Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi birth or descent who lives abroad.<\/p>\n<p>All are encouraged to submit their photography to <a href=\"mailto:sasi@ufv.ca\">sasi@ufv.ca<\/a>.
