SASI Director, Dr. Satwinder Kaur Bains was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 2019 Drishti Awards Night. The lifetime achievement award is given to a positive community activist with exceptional dedication, professionalism and serving a vital contribution to their community. The awardee also needs to have, over the past 25 years or more, made significant contributions to the community and have improved the quality of life for citizens or whose accomplishments have brought recognition to the community.
Bharathi Sandhu, Chair of the SASI’s South Asian Community Advisory Committee, received the Drishti award for ‘Women Entrepreneur of the Year.’ This award is given to someone who demonstrates the most striking track record of managing or leading one or more successful businesses all the while being an inspirational, passionate and dedicated business leader.
UFV was represented at the awards by Dr. James Mandigo, Provost and Vice-President Academic and Dr. Garry Fehr, Associate Vice-President of Research, Engagement and Graduate Studies.
