Dr. Claire Carolan selected as Associate Director, Program Development and Quality Assurance

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Claire Carolan has been selected as the new Associate Director of Program Development and Quality Assurance. Claire will begin her new role on September 1, 2021.

Dr. Carolan brings expertise in curriculum development and review. She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Curriculum & Instruction and Performance Studies, and an MA in Education Curriculum & Instruction, Arts Education. Her keen interest in interdisciplinary curriculum and pedagogy was the driving motivation of her graduate studies, and her doctoral dissertation Lighting Design Curriculum and Pedagogy in Canada was nominated for the Governor General’s Gold Medal.

Claire’s worked in post-secondary education, in colleges and universities, in support staff and teaching roles since the early 1990s. She’s taught in Theatre, English, and Visual Arts at UFV since 2016, in the Faculty of Education at Simon Fraser University, and in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Victoria. She was contracted to Indigenize the curriculum in the Working in Natural Gas program, and is consulting on an environmental scan of comparable institutions and online curriculum development.
