Blackboard (myClass) Outage – Plan Accordingly

What is happening?
When planning for next semester, be aware Blackboard will be down for maintenance and not available from Tuesday, April 28, 2020 through Friday, May 1, 2020.
Please ensure that students are not required to complete online coursework, upload assignments, or complete tests/exams during this period.

What do I need to do?
Schedule all rooms, exams, assignments, calendars, grades, and term-ending activities accordingly.

Ensure the following activities are completed before 12am Tuesday, April 28, 2020:

  • Finalize and download grades
  • Complete assignments and exams
  • Complete course material for next term
  • Complete all term ending activities
  • Communicate this down time to students, faculty, and staff through your usual channels.

Why are we doing this project?
UFV is moving Blackboard Learn (myClass) to a vendor managed cloud-based platform. This move will allow us to leverage the newest releases from the vendor in a timely manner.

Who is impacted?
Faculty, staff, and students will not be able to access Blackboard while the update is in progress.

What is not affected?
All other UFV IT services will be available.
