Bargaining underway for renewal of 2019-2022 collective agreement

UFV met with the Faculty and Staff Association three times in March. Further meetings are scheduled for the end of April, with seven days scheduled over the next two months. There have been settlements in the post-secondary sector and many colleges and universities are progressing with negotiations. 285,000 of 390,000 unionized employees in BC (73%) have newly signed agreements (104 of 184 BC public sector contracts). These agreements have a 3-year term that begins (retroactively) in 2022.  Negotiations are conducted within the parameters set out in the BC government’s shared recovery mandate.
