The upgrade will result in an outage beginning Sunday, January 25th at 12:00AM (midnight).<\/p>\n<p><strong>After the Upgrade:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo ensure you are using the latest version of Kaltura for recording videos, please launch the application from the Kaltura MyMedia page in Brightspace rather than from your device.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steps:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Log in to Brightspace.<br \/>\n2. Click on the MyMedia drop-down in the navigation bar.<br \/>\n3. Select Kaltura MyMedia.<br \/>\n4. Click the + Add New button and choose Kaltura Capture from the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n<p>Once you launch Kaltura Capture this way, you can open it directly from your device for subsequent recordings.<\/p>\n<p>*If you are a staff member who has a UFV Mediaspace account, please login to UFV Mediaspace (video.ufv.ca) and follow Step 4.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When will this Occur?<\/strong><br \/>\nSunday, January 25th, 2026, from 12:00AM to 3:00AM with potential for outage to extend until 12:00PM (Noon)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is impacted?<\/strong><br \/>\nAll UFV students and faculty will be unable to access videos in Brightspace that are uploaded via Kaltura or upload new videos in Brightspace through Kaltura during the outage windows.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tVideos uploaded directly in Brightspace using its built-in video platform are <strong>NOT<\/strong> impacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Services Impacted:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022\tVideo access and upload ability in Brightspace via Kaltura will be unavailable during the outage.<br \/>\n\u2022\tBrightspace\u2019s built-in video platform remains fully functional, videos created and uploaded using that feature will not be affected.<br \/>\n\u2022\tUFV Mediaspace (video.ufv.ca) will be unavailable during the upgrade period<\/p>\n<p><strong>Still need more info ?<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Desk at <a href=\"http:\/\/itservicedesk.ufv.ca\">itservicedesk.ufv.ca<\/a>, email <a href=\"mailto:itservicedesk@ufv.ca\">itservicedesk@ufv.ca<\/a> or call us on local 4610 or 604-864-4610.<\/p>\n<p>Post upgrade, in case of issues, please submit the <a href=\"https:\/\/itservicedesk.ufv.ca\/TDClient\/52\/ITServicesPortal\/Requests\/ServiceDet?ID=2247\">Report a Kaltura Issue<\/a> form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What do I need to know?
