Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) was introduced to all UFV employees and students in 2021. IT Security will soon expand our MFA protection to include additional applications you may use when using a webpage such as Blackboard and self-serve services within myUFV.
Threats from password compromise, phishing emails, and malicious software are rapidly increasing. Multi-Factor Authentication provides an extra layer of security to your account, ensuring that only you have access to your account, even if your password is compromised.
What is changing?
After September 1st, when signing into some web-based services with your UFV email address and password. You may be asked to verify your identity using the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method that you have chosen such as a phone call or text message.
What do I need to do?
If you are already registered for MFA, nothing further is needed, you are ready to authenticate when you are asked to verify your identity.
If you are not registered or are not sure if you are registered for MFA, visit our knowledge base article to learn more.
