Direct Access Change to Always On – March 02 2022

IT Services will be implementing a new service in March that will replace our Direct Access technology.  Currently, employees working off-campus that require access to systems such as Banner or FAST connect to an on-campus or virtual machine through Direct Access/RDP session.  Our new service, Always On will replace this technology and allow employees working off-campus to seamlessly access applications directly from a UFV laptop without connecting remotely.

Employees can expect their UFV laptop to automatically connect to Always On as of March 02nd and Direct Access will be removed shortly after.   IT Services does not anticipate disruption of service for employees during this change.

What do I need to do?
After March 02, employees working remotely can use their desktop icons and browser windows to access applications directly from their UFV laptops.
