Keeping in line with the recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19 by social distancing , as well as to protect our IT Service Desk staff so they can continue to provide support during these times, Information Technology Services has made the decision to remove walk-in service as an entry point of support at the IT Service Desk. We will also be temporarily suspending our student device repair service, until social distancing is no longer a recommendation. Everyone who has devices in service right now has been contacted and arrangements have been made for pickup.
The IT Service Desk will remain open, with extended hours 8am-8pm Monday through Friday, through all other regular channels including phone, email, remote desktop control , as well as through our ticketing system itservicedesk.ufv.ca and our website www.ufv.ca/its . Desktop, classroom and meeting room support for staff and faculty who remain on campus at UFV, will still be available for technician dispatch by contacting the IT Service Desk through any of the remaining channels. In the event that in person support at the IT Service Desk is essential, please reach out first to see if remote support can be offered, and if not we can work on alternative support arrangements such as scheduled appointments.
