In case you hadn’t realized it yet, UFV is home to some amazing student writers. Many of them produce insightful local commentary on a grueling weekly schedule in our student newspaper, The Cascade<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sadly though, it’s time to say goodbye to several greats. Katie Stobbart (Editor-in-Chief), Michael Scoular (News Editor), Nadine Moedt (Culture Editor), Sasha Moedt (Arts Editor), Anthony Biondi (Production and Design Editor), Ashley Mussbacher (Webmaster), and Joe Johnson (Business Manager) have contributed to their last issue of the 2015-2016 Cascade<\/em><\/a> and look forward to graduating this June.<\/p>\n

While we’ll miss their compelling stories, we celebrate their inevitable journey into greatness as they join the ranks of so many famous North American authors who got their start as writers and editors of student-run newspapers and publications, including:<\/p>\n

Pierre Berton<\/p>\n

Earle Birney<\/p>\n

F. Scott Fitzgerald<\/p>\n

Naomi Klein<\/p>\n

Harper Lee<\/p>\n

Alice Munro<\/p>\n

J. D. Salinger<\/p>\n

E. B. White<\/p>\n

We can’t predict what great things our alumni will do–we simply know they’re on their way to setting the literary world alight.<\/p>\n

And we’re equally confident that their replacements on the new Cascade<\/em> editorial team will step up to carry on the\u00a0 impressive work.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, all the best to our departing greats–we wish you well in your future success!<\/p>\n
