Her project began by investigating\u00a0best practices for musicians\u00a0looking to build online communities for their existing followers and new fans.\u00a0\u00a0Applying these principles, Talia put in\u00a0place a comprehensive social media strategy for her husband, an independent ambient\u00a0music composer and performer. The\u00a0report on best practices for independent\u00a0musicians can be found\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/cmns\/files\/2014\/07\/1.-CMNS490-Best-Practices-Report.pdf\">here<\/a>, while some examples of the online presence she\u00a0developed can be found <a title=\"(val)Liam website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.valliammusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>\u00a0and <a title=\"val(Liam) on Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/valliammusic\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000\" \/><br style=\"color: #000000\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000\">Talia appreciated the flexibility of the Directed Studies course, <a title=\"412 - Outline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/calendar\/CourseOutlines\/PDFs\/CMNS\/CMNS412-20100226.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">CMNS 412 <\/a>. It allowed her to\u00a0earn upper-level credits towards her degree while learning about an essential, emerging\u00a0area of marketing and communications.
