UFV\u2019s Community Health and Social Innovation (CHASI) Hub is excited to announce its Community Action Cohort (CAC) initiative which will support 24 student research assistant and intern positions through 2023 and 2024. These students will be involved in rich experiential learning opportunities working alongside research and knowledge mobilization professionals and supported by a faculty and community mentor.<\/p>\n

According to CHASI Director Dr. Martha Dow, \u201cWhile we have experienced tremendous success working alongside our partners on a wide range of community-driven projects, we are very excited about this funding as it represents clear and enthusiastic endorsement of CHASI\u2019s robust model of student engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Community Action Cohort students will be working on a variety of projects including a gang prevention strategy for the City of Abbotsford, a flood resiliency project, a curriculum project for Abbotsford Hospice Society, supporting Old Massett Village Council in their search for their missing children, and continuing a multi-year project examining the role of technology in the experiences of social connectedness for youth and older adults.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
