On Thursday, September 26, UFV shared St\u2019elt\u2019elawtexw, the university’s annual community report, with members of the communities we serve. This event also served as the debut of the UFV’s Changemaking work\u2014 the formalization of our ongoing efforts to empower students and educators to contribute innovative, evidence-informed solutions to complex problems.<\/p>\n
Changemaking was supported by the staff and students of UFV’s Community Health and Social Innovation Hub<\/a>, who connected with the community to hear their ideas about the meaning of changemaking.<\/p>\n We were thrilled to speak with people representing so many experiences and viewpoints from within UFV and the broader community, and to share our commitment to our four guiding principles<\/a>: inclusive empowerment, decolonization and Indigenization, sustainable futures, and reciprocity.<\/p>\n At the event, we invited guests to contribute to a graphic record \u2014 a collaborative art piece representing the ideas, conversations, and energy of the evening. Artist Melissa Kendzierski from Drawing Change<\/a> crafted the beautiful piece you see below, channelling the values of collaboration, innovation, inclusivity, and more.<\/p>\n This event was only the beginning.
