{"id":372,"date":"2024-11-15T19:10:35","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T19:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/campus-planning\/?p=372"},"modified":"2024-11-15T19:10:35","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T19:10:35","slug":"abb-dhe-power-it-outages-on-saturday-november-30-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/campus-planning\/2024\/11\/15\/abb-dhe-power-it-outages-on-saturday-november-30-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"ABB &#8211; DHE &#8211; Power &#038; IT outages on Saturday, November 30, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This message is on behalf of Campus Planning and ITS<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>What do I need to know?<br \/>\n<\/strong>Significant IT outage and power outage are scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where and when?<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Power outage: <\/em>Electricity will be shut down to Abbotsford Building\u00a0B between\u00a09:30 PM, Saturday, November 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024, and 12:30 AM\u00a0Sunday, December 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nIT outage:<\/em> IT services\u00a0will be suspended on all campuses \u2013 completely between 6:30 PM, Saturday, November 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024, and 5:30 AM\u00a0Sunday, December 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Services Impacted:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Power outage: <\/em>All power to building B will be disconnected. This will impact the temperature control units, and building maintenance systems, etc.<\/p>\n<p><em>IT outage:<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Internet service for all campuses<\/li>\n<li>Telephone service (excluding red emergency phones)<\/li>\n<li>Remote desktop connections<\/li>\n<li>Banner, FAST, myUFV, and the UFV website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Will student\/employee email &amp; myClass services be available?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, provided a campus internet connection isn\u2019t required to access during scheduled outages.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are the power and IT outages related?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes. To complete the final stage of the power upgrades required for the new equipment in the Dining Hall kitchen upgrade, new switches are required to be added to an electrical panel.
