WHEN: Saturday, May 18, 2024, to Monday, June 3, 2024
WHERE: Student Housing Construction Site outside of Building E, Abbotsford Campus
WHAT: The Student Housing team will be relocating the fire hydrant that is beside building E. They will be relocating it further south towards the main entrance of building E.
This relocation will cause impacts to accessing building E, along with disruptive work being completed outside of building E.
- May 18-20: Fence modified to close sidewalk between front & side entrances of Building E
- This will remove the ramp access from the pathway that previously led to the parking lot (see map below).
- Accessible access will be via the ramp on the southeast corner of the building, or via the west or east entrances.
- May 20-31: Excavation, pipe install, backfill, pressure testing & flushing, pipe cutting to take place inside new fence enclosure.
- This will be disruptive work with loud noise and vibrations.
- May 27-31: New Fire Department Connection & Hydrant tie-in;
- will shut down sprinkler service to Building E for one half day (specific date TBD)
- The building will still be able to operate normally.
- Firewatch will be provided by the construction team.
- June 3: Fence restored to current set up.
- Pathway access will be reopened.
