Dear Participant,

Below is some helpful information to know prior to the symposium date.


What to Bring

Please bring your own reusable cup, mug or water bottle to help reduce our single-use plastic waste. On the day, you will receive a participant package which includes a notebook, pen, and hard copy materials.


No Cell Phone Policy

To facilitate a cohesive and collaborative setting that will achieve the goals of the symposium we are implementing a no cell phone use policy. This means there will be no phones during the keynote presentation, sessions or during the luncheon panel. We have set up an emergency number so that you can be reached in an emergency. Please share this phone number and email with anyone that may need to contact you: 604-226-4529 or ArtsEvents@ufv.ca.


Parking Pass

An electronic parking pass will be emailed to you on December 19th to use during the day of the event. We have reserved Lot 12 which is located beside K Building. If Lot 12 is full, please park in Lots 4 and 5.

Weather Alert

We acknowledge that winter weather might impact the symposium. To ensure everyone has up-to-date and accurate information, we encourage you to sign up for the UFV Alert. This alert system ensures that we will all receive the same message and will be aware if there is a campus closure.

If you choose not to sign up, please check the UFV website prior to travelling to campus. Any campus closures will be prominently displayed on the home page.

Please be advised that photographs will be taken for use by the University of the Fraser Valley during this event.
