{"id":4512,"date":"2014-09-02T10:08:06","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T17:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/announce\/?p=4512"},"modified":"2014-09-16T08:32:01","modified_gmt":"2014-09-16T15:32:01","slug":"lifesaver-dunk-tank-challenge-sept-12-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/announce\/2014\/09\/02\/lifesaver-dunk-tank-challenge-sept-12-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Lifesaver Dunk Tank Challenge &#8212; Sept 12 &amp; 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Are you willing to get wet to help a good cause?<\/p>\n<p>UFV&#8217;s Advancement office is looking for some candidates that will help us engage our internal and external audiences \u2013 and raise a little cash for the Be a Lifesaver campaign with this month&#8217;s Lifesaver Dunk Tank Challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Our Community Celebration event&#8217;s goals are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Raise awareness about theUFV Be a Lifesaver campaign; this campaign demonstrates the generous commitment of our employees to \u201cput their money where their mouth is\u201d and reinforces our unique identity as a supportive and caring institution<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Raise awareness about the real need for giving to UFV; we feel that there is a misconception that since we are publicly funded we shouldn&#8217;t need to fundraise \u2013 when the opposite is true!<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Raise at least $1,500 over the two dates through tickets by donation and community support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are looking for 30 minutes of your time, between <strong>4\u20137 pm on Sept. 12 (Chwk) and Sept 17 (Abby).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will supply you with a Lifesaver t-shirt, and you may want to wear swimming shorts. Water wings optional.<\/p>\n<p>Please become a lifesaver by volunteering to be dunked in our dunk tank fun fundraiser.
