Join us for the launch of our new exhibit at the Sikh Heritage Museum, Chandra Bodalia\u2019s Legacy: The History and Heritage of Gurdwaras in BC, curated by the South Asian Studies Institute!<\/p>\n

Affectionally nicknamed, the \u2018Smile Catcher\u2019, Chandra Bodalia was a prominent member of the South Asian community in B.C.\u2019s lower mainland area, and was a visual recordkeeper of many of the community’s events.<\/p>\n

This exhibit highlights Bodalia\u2019s work of photographing Gurdwaras (Sikh places of worship) across B.C., capturing many historical buildings and sites important to the history of Sikh settler heritage in Canada.<\/p>\n
