UFV Trades and Technology is hosting a \u201cLeap into Trades\u201d day at the UFV Chilliwack Trades and Technology Centre on Thursday, Feb 29. This will be an exciting day filled with hands on career exploration and competition.<\/p>\n
The Skills Canada BC Regional (secondary) competition starts at 8 am and carries on to 4 pm, featuring the following groups.<\/p>\n
– Architectural CAD
\n-Automotive Technology
\n-Cabinetmaking
\n-Carpentry
\n-Culinary
\n-Electrical Wiring
\n-Mechanical CAD
\n-Welding<\/p>\n
A pathway will be set up through the shops of the Trades and Technology Centre where students will be able to watch the competition take place.<\/p>\n
From 9 am to 1:30 pm, visitors will be able to participate in a variety of learning opportunities through try-a-trade activities, and from 2:30 to 7:30 pm an open house will provide a chance to learn more about programs offered by UFV’s trades, technologies, engineering and physics departments.
