What do I need to know?<\/strong>
\nSignificant power and IT outages are scheduled for this Saturday, August 19.<\/p>\n

Where and when?<\/strong>
\nPower outage:<\/em>
\nElectricity will be shut down to Abbotsford Buildings G and H (L\u00e1:lem te Baker) between 8 am and 12 noon Sat, Aug 19.<\/p>\n

IT outage:<\/em>
\nIT services will be suspended on all campuses \u2013 completely between 6\u20139 pm Sat, Aug 19, then intermittently from 9 pm\u201312 midnight.<\/p>\n

Services Impacted:
\n<\/strong>Power outage:<\/em>
\n<\/strong>Remote desktop access, onsite VoIP phones, and Wi-Fi will not be available in Buildings G and H.<\/p>\n

IT outage:<\/em>
\n<\/strong>-Internet service for all campuses
\n-Telephone service (excluding red emergency phones)
\n-Remote desktop connections
\n-All online services, including Banner, FAST, myUFV, and the UFV website<\/p>\n

Will student\/employee email & myClass services be available?
\n<\/strong>Yes, provided a campus internet connection isn\u2019t required to access during scheduled outages.<\/p>\n

Are the power and IT outages related?
\n<\/strong>No.
\nBC Hydro is conducting equipment maintenance.
\nITS is performing critical network upgrades to improve network security and reliability.<\/p>\n

What about Security?<\/strong>
\nUFV Safety and Security will continue to be available 24 hours a day at 1-855-239-7654.<\/p>\n
